Being a mum of two, working part time along with running my VA business, I need to make sure that I am always organised and can fit everything in for the week. This includes dropping off and picking up the kids from school and daycare, after school sports and any appointments as well as putting time aside for my own personal fitness sessions which are essential to keeping me focused or clearing my mind.

3 Tips to Stay Organised

The three ways that help me stay organised during the week are:

1. My Diary planner

I carry a planner with me everywhere I go. This lists all my upcoming appointments and plans to ensure I do not miss anything during the week. I have made it a habit to routinely check the week ahead and make sure I am sorted.

2. Prepare in advance

In order to be ready to go, I need to prepare in advance. Meal prepping for me involves pre-cooking my families dinners and lunches so we are sorted for the busy week ahead! All clothing, uniforms, and bags are prepared the night before so we are able to exit the house and get everyone where they need to be on time!

3. Allocate time slots

If you have deadlines to meet during the week, make sure you allocate time to yourself to achieve them. For instance I make it a priority to get to the gym on Monday for yoga. I plan the day around that time slot meaning that I know I will get there. The same principle can be used for an upcoming work deadline make sure you allocate time to complete it if you do not, its more than likely that you will do it all at the last minute which could be stressful.
