A little while ago I posted a blog on how to update your Instagram Highlight covers without spamming your followers. Today whilst talking about Instagram with a friend and going through the highlight covers. I was telling how she could change them without having to send it to all her followers when we discovered that this is no longer necessary!!!! It is now possible to update the covers without even uploading to your stories.

Upload Instagram Highlight Covers Direct from your Phone Photo Album

I am not sure when this new little update was introduced as I only recently changed mine and it wasn’t there. The new feature means that the highlight covers can be changed directly from your phone photo album! I am a little excited about this new feature as it is one super awesome and two saves you time and the hassle of setting up close friend groups. I have created a quick step by step tutorial, get ready to no longer have to upload to your stories.

Go to your Instagram profile, then hold down on the highlight cover you would like to update

Select Edit Highlight, then click Edit Cover

Scroll to the left until you get to the album icon picture click on it and tada you now have access to all your album pictures. Select the photo from your album that you want as the cover and you are done.

I use an iPhone so this is currently working on my phone and profile. I am not sure if it will work on Android phones. Instagram normally rolls out changes, so it may mean that it is not yet available on your profile.

Now you can update those highlight covers as often as you like and no more workarounds. This new feature really makes more sense than the old system.
